Itten – Rug of the day

Johannes Itten was a painter, teacher and colour theorist at the Bauhaus and is perhaps most well know for his Colour Star which he developed to teach colour theory to his students. From my early years at Central Saint Martins where colour theory was taught one day a week for the entire first year, I have been a fan of his work and approach to colour. This runner can really work in a myriad of ways… there are infinite colour opportunities for me to develop it further but for now I have started with a gentle grade of cool neutrals into warm lime green Indigo Ink Blue and a series of soft coral pinks. Available as flatweave and pile and in any size. Any enquires please contact (fifth@ptolemymann.com).

The beautiful pictures of my rug were taken by Nicole Rowntree.
