Fucila Ikat Chair – A collaboration with Marina Dragomirova

As the year closes in its a good time to reflect on the collaborations and creativity of 2011. I’ve been lucky enough to recently work with a product designer called Marina Dragomirova she and I worked together to make a chair for the show in Ruthin. I met her in the Summer at the degree show at the Royal college of Art and was really taken with her Fuchila chair. We decided to do something together which combined my transitions of colour with her concept of a chair that acts, literally, as the loom frame itself. I feel this is an unusual object, something that celebrates hand craftmanship but delivers a functional and rather slick design idea.

We are now working on a second chair to show in Milan next Spring.
